This is an experiential, life-changing workshop that will give participants the tools to get great posture quickly and easily with a revolutionary method of yoga and self guided bodywork called YogAlign. This workshop is suitable for any person interested in posture realignment, back care, yoga, movement and corrective exercise. All ages and fitness levels are welcome to attend.
Good posture increases attractiveness, can alleviate chronic pain, increase feelings of happiness, keep energy levels high, boosts confidence, and supports the optimal functioning of all major systems of the
body. In YogAlign, you will learn a lot about your anatomy in an experiential fashion enabling you to sense and feel the global nature of your body in its entirety. All the movements we do in YogAlign are safe, comfortable and a lot of fun.
Participants will learn unique resistance breathing techniques that tone the core and align posture from the inside out. Take home techniques to develop better body awareness, and initiate natural movement from the core breathing line, where good posture simply becomes innate. Similar to a ‘default’ program on a computer, aligned posture ‘software’ is uploaded to the autonomic nervous system where individual postural and movement habits occur without our conscious control. When posture is aligned, movement can feel centered, balanced and effortless.
This workshop focuses on activation of the psoas/diaphragm connection for core-centered movement, enhanced breathing capabilities, organ support, and emotional balance. YogAlign incorporates self-massage to stimulate blood flow, nourish tissues and increases kinesthetic awareness revitalizing the cortical map in the brain. The tension balancing techniques stabilize joint functions and can free fascia restrictions. Fascia (our connective tissue web) is a major determinant of posture, movement and even our moods.
Participants will acquire skills that can be applied to any yoga style, movement or exercise.
